Tournament for journalists held

On the occasion of 22 July, the National Day of the Press, the Baku Chess Olympiad Organizing Committee has organized a chess tournament for journalists. Information about the playing rules was provided at the opening ceremony. It was indicated that the objective of the tournament was to promote chess in the run-up to the 42nd World Chess Olympiad due to be held in Baku.

Fuad Alizadeh (sputnik.az) became the winner with seven points, Jeyhun Aliyev (futbolinfo.az) finished in second place with six points and Ilkin Khalilov (ATV) in third with five points.

The winners received diplomas and gifts from the Baku Chess Olympiad Organizing Committee.
